Pharmacy technicians: experience deserves a voice

Learning together begins with listening to every member of the team.

In 2022, Quiz.Coach shared news of an interview with pharmacy technician David Brousseau in the June 27 issue of Porphyre. That milestone invites a broader conversation: how pharmacy technicians’ experience can contribute to shared learning.

Every working day brings explanations, questions and situations worth discussing. A particularly clear phrase, a request that was difficult to understand or a moment of uncertainty can all become starting points for learning together.

Try a simple exercise. Invite a team member to describe a fictional situation inspired by everyday work, without patient information. Then ask everyone what they would need to understand to respond within their professional role. A trainer can help identify the knowledge that needs attention and the questions that deserve further exploration.

At Quiz.Coach, we want learning to be a place where everyone feels able to ask a question. Recognizing experience, asking for sources and exploring a subject’s limits can happen in the same conversation. It is that open, thoughtful professional exchange that we want to encourage.
